![]() The repetitive nature of some of the sound effects is enough to make you want to force the space bar through your ear drum to make them stop. The ambient sounds were okay, they did nothing much to enhance the game but they were functional and served a purpose. Well the first thing I did with this game was to kill the music it was so annoying all I wanted was to turn it off. Even Age of Empires 2 had better graphics than Transport Giant. In an age where 3D Graphics are the in thing, a game which uses 2D isometric graphics really suffers. It reminded me of many of the early RTS games, which suffered from little or no animation and where the ability to distinguish buildings becomes a task. Even the animation cannot save the graphics on this game. I really wanted to like this game I gave it a good shot and parts of it I thought were good but on the whole you can enjoy a game with a few flaws but not one with the amount his game has.Īt first glance they look okay, but when you start to play the game and get up close you can see the tell tale marks of highly compressed graphics. I was really looking forward to this game, I saw the original in the shops shortly after it came out, I was going to buy it then, but I had no cash spare. Yep Transport Giant - Down Under, well it's under something if not most things. At the end of the day then fans of the original game will find something that tickles their fancy here but unfortunately everybody else will more than likely become frustrated very easily and in the end Transport Giant: Gold Edition just doesn’t do enough to get a recommendation from me.I have just come from praising a game I thought I would hate now I find my self loathing a game I thought I would love. Technically the game suffers with quite a few issues and the dated visuals and sound design makes returning back to the game more difficult than it should be. ![]() The fun factor dwindles further due to the gameplay being too complicated and the lack of a tutorial is something that shocked me greatly. This is a shame because in terms of variety the game has quite a bit which does give the game replaybilty, but this still didn’t stop it from becoming repetetive very quickly. After playing it for a few hours it became quite clear that in most areas it hasn’t aged very well and whilst I appreciate some things about the game it just doesn’t have enough fun included in it. Unfortunately I never played it back then but that still didn’t stop me from having some interest in it and in a way I was glad it was making its way to the Xbox One. Overall Transport Giant first released back in 2004 and it garnered quite a loyal following because it was more intricate than anything else before it. There is a decent amount of content present playing for long periods makes this content become very repetetive quite quickly. Technically the game suffers with a few issues every now and then and some of these issues can be quite annoying at times. The fun factor isn’t very high due to the fact that the gameplay is very complicated, and the lack of a tutorial doesn’t help. Unfortunately the presentation side of the game hasn’t aged well and both the visuals and sound design don’t have anything that really stands out. ![]() The amount of vehicles available to you is astounding and the amount of maps present does do a good job of keeping things fresh. In terms of replaybility the game has quite a lot and if you’re a fan of these types of game’s there will definitely be something here that tickles your fancy. ![]() There’s quite a bit of variety present when it comes to the transportation of goods and this does create some fun moments every now and then. ![]()
